We sat and drank bourbon & discussed Digital Savvy. We spoke all about what we do & how we got started. We described that we began in peak-pandemic time in April 2020. We are Google Premier Partners and specialize in Digital Marketing for all size businesses. We can serve those all over the country who need some assistance with their website, SEO, SEM. targeted marketing or any type of advertising or consulting.
We also talked in-depth with the Babes (also known as Leigh, Kayla & Hannah) about social media and how important it is to connect with your audience on these multiple platforms. “I feel like people use social media just as much as they do Google now, when it comes to looking at businesses” said Hannah.
Savannah agreed that it’s extremely important to increase awareness and create that personal relationship between you and your target audience. People scroll an average of 2 hours + daily. Make sure they are seeing the content you put out there whether it’s organic and done on the front-end of Instagram/Facebook, or ads created in Business Manager on the back-end.
We then talked about the journey to start up Digital Savvy and what Savannah accomplished on her way to growing her own business & continue working with local clients. Starting during the beginning of the pandemic allowed the DS team to work with businesses who were in a moment of pause and had time to reflect on how their digital presence will effect their sales.
Next, the Babes asked what Savannah would want o be her legacy – she said, “You do not need to work from 9-5 every day!” Our society is starting to change the way we work and stay “productive”. The ability to be multi-passionate is very important to our team. Savannah talked through her daily schedule and how working remotely in 2023 is working for her mind and body.
The Love Club
Since we are all remote and working from home (hopefully!) still, Savannah formed The Love Club. The group was formed in 2020 after the pandemic kept most of us isolated for months. Some career paths are already isolating like graphic design, solo makers, and someone like me who works from home constantly! Savannah realized the need to connect with others through a Facebook group. At the time, social media was our only way to keep in touch!
In 2023, the Love Club has grown to doing in-person events in downtown Lexington. We now present the Magic of Marketing series where we discuss the immense connection between YOU and your clients, customers & biggest supporters. This is a free event and is open to the public.
The last question the Bourbon Bluegrass Babes asked Savannah was “If you had one piece of advice to your younger self, what would it be?” Trust your gut. You know the right move. Breaking through that fear to go out on your own & fulfill yourself. Not for someone else, not for your bank account or for your own expectations.. just do it & trust yourself!
If you’ve ever come to a website while shopping online, you have probably landed on a sales page. Especially if you were looking for a software, high-ticket item, or a product seen while scrolling. In fact, this page is probably what inspired you to whip out your credit card or cough up some information.
What is a Sales Page?
A sales page is your best opportunity to explain your products and services to visitors and make them want to buy. It needs to be attention-grabbing, informative, and persuasive, all at the same time.
This is a page, much different than the homepage of your site. This is because the goal of a homepage is not just to drive conversions. They attract a much wider audience, and with navigational tabs and generic language, they are not tailored to converting a very specific customer the way a sales page is.
Consider it a summary of why exactly people should buy from you, and the quickest way to reach you. So, first things first.. keep it short and sweet. No scrolling necessary.
A landing page is also a very important tool to use in marketing to track visits to the specific URL, track leads and incoming calls/forms that come in from our Digital Marketing Campaigns directly.
Helpful Tip:This can be a hidden page on the site, so not visible to the average viewer. It does not need to appear in the menu – therefore it can only be accessed through marketing or private sharing of the URL!
Some successful sales pages bring in millions of dollars to a business through passive income. Wouldn’t that be great if you had a digital partner who could tell you all about how to build the perfect landing page? And, what to include to make $$$ effortlessly! AND… keep track of reporting for your digital marketing efforts?! Heck yes!
Here are a few key elements to consider when building a landing page:
1. Know Your Audience
Before we dive in.. let’s take a look at who we will be chatting with. What type of person is landing on this page? How did they get here? What are they interested in?
There are a ton of factors that go into the perfect customer. It may be different than you think! Check out my other blog post on Developing the Perfect Target Audience to learn how to put one together on your own!
2. A Strong Headline
These target audience members are looking to your business for an answer to their question(s). Most of the times they are asking Google and end up on this page. Now show them what you’re made of! Something they can resonate with. Something that will help them through their “pain point” they are experiencing right now.
Having a Value Proposition also helps by saying this is who we are, and this is who we help. Here’s a client sales page we have created for example.
3. List of Services or Product information
Along with an image or two, it’s always helpful to add in some valuable info about what it is you offer and how it can help. Explaining your offerings in a more direct fashion will have your potential customers weighing options and determining what is the best outcome for them.
This could be a simple list of services, a feature of 3 price points, or a general overview of what it is you offer. A visual component goes a long way. We do not want to be too long-winded here.
4. Testimonial
Let’s be honest, they might not care what you have to say about your own product/service. They do however care about people’s reviews & experience working with your business.
Reviews and social proof are a great way to establish trust with your clients and seal the deal. When they feel like they can trust you, it is easier to make the decision to buy or contact you from this point on.
Call to Action
You have their attention. Now get the info you need to complete the sale! Reel them in with a “Book Now” button or ask them to “Join the Movement” and fill out a form or link to your phone number. This is a direct line to you and your services.
Align this with your conversion goals, and you have a winner. For example, if I were to offer you (yes YOU!) a FREE Marketing Consultation right now to help you grow your business online.. would you take it? Well click here now, because you should 😉
Here’s another great example of a Call To Action (CTA) that appears multiple times on the page.
Obviously including Contact Information is going to be very important in tracking your marketing! We are even able to create Call Tracking Phone Numbers through Google Ads so we can listen and keep up with incoming calls.
Recap
So, all that to tell you Sales/Landing pages are super-important for tracking Digital Marketing Campaigns, but also for a quick conversion for your existing or perfect target audience. All landing pages should include A Strong Headline, A small List of Services or Products, Calls to Action or Ways to contact you, and few images and testimonials from happy customers. That’s it!

When you Google your business’ services, does your listing come up in the search results? Do your competitors?
This is something all business owners struggle with, especially if you are just starting out. You have your website, you’ve made a Google My Business profile.. now how the hell do you get your business to show up at the top of the results page?!
I won’t say it’s easy. Because it’s a climb to get to the top.. just ask Miley Cyrus. It takes consistent work and a lot of details to make sure Your Website and Search Engines are on speaking terms. And, that all your information is correct and up to date.
Here are 6 Easy Actions You Can do on Your Own to Improve your SEO right now.
1. Post photos and monthly updates to your Google My Business profile
Setting up a GMB profile is a free tool businesses of all sizes can use to verify their listing and information – your location, what areas you serve, menu items, contact info, and more. Think of this like another form of social media we can use to get out updated pictures, promotions, events, and seasonal changes.
Updating content on this platform and many others (Digital Savvy manages up to 70 different industry-specific directory sites), you’re able to keep your customers up to date and this shows Google that you care about your listing and how your customers find you. The more visitors interact with your profile, the more Google is going to show you in the results!
2. Reduce file sizes and increase the overall speed of your website
There are tons of great applications and plugins you can use to “smush” your existing photos on your site. Some cost a monthly fee, and some are free. We have access to an arsenal of solutions to help increase your page speed so you do not lose any potential customers.
Don’t you hate it when you click on a new business in the search results of Google and their site takes too long to load so you just leave? You are not alone.
Sources: LoadStorm, Econsultancy
A high bounce-rate tells the search engine that the user is not finding what it needs from the site and the search listings will ultimately suffer.
3. Make sure all pages have meta tags & descriptions
OK you’ve heard me talk about the communication between Google and your website a few times so far.. well that is all through meta tags and descriptions. These are basically a summary of your content for your customers to view on Google. They do not appear on the front-end of the page, but rather in the code of the page itself.
Adding these tags, submitting your sitemap to Google and creating Headline tags to go along with your top services will help provide a snipped of what you provide and will break down each page in the search results. See below for an example!
4. Add Blog Content that solves a current problem from a potential customer
We want to create an incentive for a potential client to click on an article when the search for a pain point. For example, if they are looking to improve their health, we will show them 3 ways to get healthier in the next 30 days.
Your business is the answer to all of their problems. Provide them with positive content that will help them answer any questions they may have. You can also add up to 10 tags to your blog post – think of these as keywords people would search for to find your blog!
pro-tip: people love to see numbers in blog titles. It seems like 3 easy steps is an achievable goal for many people, and it’s a way to invite readers to find out what those steps are. Which is the reason you may be reading this post now..
5. Create outbound links to other websites with high authority
My favorite way to link to other sites is through a media page. Have you ever been featured on the news or in an article? Win any awards? Create a post or link on your site to this content.
This very-well may be the article or page that shows up first in the results of a search for your business. Since those other domains are usually high-traffic sites and host a lot of content, so they are a great way to boost your website and get more visitors organically.
You can find backlink opportunities with top referral sources and form quality partnerships with Digital Savvy’s top SEO package.
6. Rename existing images and add alt or img tags on the back-end of your website
If you have access to the back-end of your site and feel comfortable, this is a great way to boost engagement with photos and searches about your services. When you save a photo, rename that photo so that it’s not just IMG.jpg.
The more details you put into what content is existing on your website, the better your SEO will be. Once you rename the picture, add an alt tag to describe what is going on in the photo. You can also add keyword tags and make the photos a link to your services.
This creates an open communication from the images on your site to the image search in Google! I highly suggest adding photos and featured images break up content on your site. The more links to other pages on your site, the more time people will spend accessing your information and learning about your business.
I hope this helps give you SEO a boost and you can start seeing some organic results in traffic to your site! Seems like too much work? Contact Digital Savvy for more information and to see how she can help.
Since launching the Google Advertising platform in 2000, the questions surrounding the platform have grown into straight up myths. It has changed and developed so much over the years, but somehow there is still a stigma and some mystery behind the scenes. It could be the burned budget, it could be the wrong tactics or even the wrong messaging. Below Digital Savvy will knock out a few of the most common Myths about Google Ads.
1. No One Clicks on Ads
If that were true, Google probably wouldn’t be one of the media companies in the world! Most users online treat the sponsored links as answers to a question they have searched, rather than as advertisements. So where does this myth come from? Well, probably it’s due to the fact that there are people who deliberately don’t click on the advertisements. Are you one of them?
These are, for example, the people who are searching the specific information but aren’t necessarily interested in making a direct purchase right off the jump. On the other end of the spectrum, there are also users who intentionally click on the the organic listing that follows.
These are often persons more aware and willing to buy who are looking for a place which offers products that will meet their expectations. In this case, the users’ purchasing power is noticeably greater. Such customers will not only eagerly click on advertisements that satisfy their needs but they’re also more prone to make a conversion after being redirected to the website!
2. They cost an arm & a leg
Many businesses believe that Google Ads is exclusively for large companies with massive advertising budgets at their disposal & can afford to spend tons of money on ads. They can be expensive. I won’t lie. It really depends on the industry you are interested in promoting.
Google Ads is actually perfect for local and small businesses. It enables to target your marketing strategy at a very defined group of users who live in a particular town or region and might be interested in your products or services. Being strategic with your campaign can not only reduce the costs of advertising, but also increase your efficiency.
Ask for a free quote from Digital Savvy and we can provide you with a recommended budget (one that won’t break the bank!) but that will also be effective in attracting leads.
There is no minimum budget. My clients can choose how much they want to spend each month to get the most of our campaign!
3. If I don’t see my ads when I search for my products or services, they are not working
Stay calm. Your account is active, your budget is intact, and you are receiving clicks from the actual target audience. You are not the target audience. Google ads are also called Pay-Per-Click (PPC) ads. So searching for and trying to click on your ad is only going to cost your money!
At Digital Savvy, to prevent this and keep clients from spending additional dollars, we usually block the company’s IP address in order to make sure our ads are effective to the community. Not employees of the business who may use google as a resource at work.
We promise there are working! And to prove it, we provide you with a custom dashboard tracking keywords, impressions, clicks, and attribute our ads to conversions/sales on the back-end of your site.
4. If I spend $XXX, I will be at the top of the search results
Well.. it might. The bid is just one of the elements that affect the position and visibility of the advertisement. Each time your ad is displayed, it takes part in the ad auction and is appropriately ranked as a consequence. This ranking, on the other hand, determines whether and in what position your advertisement will be displayed.
Also, this is actually a good thing. Now the Walmarts of the world cannot capitalize over mom & pop stores in the area. Everyone gets a chance to be on the first page of the search results. It really depends on the effectiveness of the ad. Whichever option provides the answer to the question the user is searching for, that is what Google will display. Thanks to the elusive algorithm!
5. Google Ads do NOT effect my organic listing
There is no doubt that Google Ads is not an SEO activity, nor does it directly affect SEO results. The one and only situation when Google Ads has an indirect impact on SEO is when a shop or a brand becomes very popular and people are talking and posting on social media about it.
Google Ads do however effect the relevancy or your current organic listing. For example, those of you who do not usually click on the search ad at the top of the page. This advertisement is here to help lead you to a sale.
So if you are looking for new shoes, you may look for a certain brand and see an ad for 20% off that brand at your local boutique. Do you scroll down and look for the map location so you can shop in store? Do you go to the online store in the organic listings further down the page? Exactly.
6. Google only has ads that appear on the search engine
A few years ago, Google AdWords went through a transition after many years as a successful platform. Moving forward, it did not want to be only associated with the search engine. Which is why we now have the new powerful advertising ecosystem, which apart from the Google search engine uses such platforms as: Google Play, Google Maps, Gmail, YouTube or the Google Display Network.
However, many business owners forget about this option and unfortunately limit themselves only to the Google search engine. There are so many additional possibilities of reaching the target audience and consequently hindering further development of their business.
Also Google really likes strategies that include multiple platforms of theirs. For more information on targeted display, check out my other blog post on targeted ads & retargeting!
7. I can run my Google Ads on my own
Running Google Ads campaigns and advertising optimization isn’t a piece of cake and it definitely requires specialist knowledge of Google’s advertising platform. Nevertheless, it doesn’t mean that it’s impossible to run a Google Ads campaign on your own.
However, there are many circumstances when it’s a good idea to hire an experienced and professional agency to run the campaign for you: Profits, Time, & Experience and knowledge. Sometimes it’s just easier and more effective to let people who do a really great job at something, take it off your hands.
If you think you could use some help running your existing Google Ads campaign on your own, with another company, or if you would like to try marketing out – contact Savannah for a FREE quote that includes a guide to how you stack up to your competitors & an extensive keyword list of the top searched phrases in your industry over the last 12 months.
When starting out as a business, I thought I knew exactly who my target audience was. Women small business owners between 21-35 who listened to good music, were down to earth, and wanted to grow their business online.
Welp – as it works out.. I was totally wrong. Not something I usually like to admit, but when I looked through my Instagram insights, analytics from the back-end of my website, and took a look at who my clients actually are; I had the profile all wrong.
I was looking at my audience too gradual.
Women: Who doesn’t want to work with empowering women?! I definitely do. But, I have found just as many men in the area who have a business and just do not have time or effort to put into targeting women through social media, their messaging, in some cases even the ~aesthetic~ of their business.
I once had a meeting with a successful restaurant owner in Lexington. Her advice? Develop the menu, cocktails, and even the decor to please females. They are the ones that ultimately make the decision of where her significant other, girl friends, or family goes out to eat. So create the perfect space for HER!
How do I know who my audience is?
Think about your ideal customer. Where do they live? Are they single? Married? What do they like? Where do they shop? What kind of shoes do they like? What type of job do they have? Where do they go on the weekends? What have they been doing in quarantine?
All these things go so much deeper into what the behaviors of these people actually are. Tech companies have built this ability to create profiles of certain “people”. Basically, if you tell Facebook your perfect customer, they will send you 100 people that look just like that person and will show them your ad. Pretty crazy.
The algorithm uses predictions based on your current activity online, and previous actions. We have the ability to target based on behavior, demographic, interest, and of course location. Additionally, your job title, marital status, where you frequently shop.. Is it getting creepy yet?!
What I’m saying is…
Do your research. Look at your competitors and see what their clients look like. Check in on your social media insights & your website analytics to see who is visiting and buying your products & viewing your current content. Examine some market research for the current year or future. Then, contact me & we can develop a strategic plan to get in front of them.

When I first had the idea to start my own digital marketing business here in Lexington, I thought I knew exactly what people needed. Customers, right? I was wrong. You wouldn’t believe the types of questions I have gotten from business owners of all shapes and sizes. Friends starting their online boutique, neighbors promoting their crafts for the holidays, or my grandma trying to figure out how to get her iPad to work (hey Nena 👋).
People need help!
Online platforms like Facebook, or your website or even your online booking site can be overwhelming and confusing. Especially with all things moving and changing ever day, it is hard to keep up! It’s OK to ask for help and pass things along to someone who has a little more experience or the time to take on only one of the challenges you face everyday.
What can I do to help?
I knew when I started Digital Savvy that I wanted to be more than just another marketing person. I wanted to be a partner to my local business owners and clients who need help with setting up their Google My Business page, or finding someone who can regularly make updates to their current site. Times are changing rapidly. More people are having to buy online to stay safe and healthy during this challenging time. Businesses are struggling to stay afloat and we need more resources available to help.
Being able to schedule FREE marketing consultations is something I really feel strongly about. I can help you come up with a plan to market your business through advertising, or I can simply learn about your business and offer suggestions that won’t cost you a dime.
Contact me today to schedule a call or virtual meeting. I am here to make things easy for you. No matter what type or size of business you are. Talk to you soon!
You have finally launched your brand-new website.. congratulations!! Now what???
Whether you are just getting started launching your brand, or if you have been around for years using traditional media.. I am talking to YOU! I may be biased, but I am loving all the targeted capabilities we now have in 2020.
Want to reach housewives looking for the perfect recipe? Want to reach guys who are into cross-fit? Want to reach kids that just moved back to your local college campus? Then targeted display is the right digital product for your business! Unlike traditional media that tends to skew towards a more seasoned age group, targeted display reaches everyone from kids who are watching youtube, to your great-grandma who just figured out how to comment on Facebook.
What is Targeted Display?
Have you ever searched for something on your desktop or phone and then days (or even moments) later, you see an ad for that very item or something similar? This is no coincidence. Your phone is definitely tracking you and what you search. This could be creepy for you as a customer, but as a business owner.. it’s a great way to reach your audience with a digital billboard!
The ads can come in many shapes and sizes.. Desktop, tablet and mobile all have different ad sizes for each platform. When working on creative, we will need to keep this in mind! The more visual the ad, the better the result. Basically, less is more!
We want to show off your brand, but the idea is for the potential customer to click on the ad and land on your website page, product, or service(s) we are promoting. Whether your goal is brand awareness, clicks to your site, or you want to actually SELL something on your page – these are a great way to do so!
How does it work?
Targeted display works by “pinging” your phone as the right customer almost daily. By signing up for emails, searching for keywords, or it seems like even thinking about a new product you might want can prompt an ad to pop up on your timeline or in your newsfeed.
For example, I have the ability to work directly with programmatic vendors that have open ad space on their websites. These include Food Network, Buzzfeed, Youtube, & even local news and other media outlets. It’s not really about the sites you visit, but more of what kind of behaviors you have online.
If you are ever wondering how you see the same or similar ads on multiple different platforms or sites, it’s because advertising on multiple channels = a bigger return on investment and can increase engagement significantly! Here are a few tactics we can use to target your target audience:
Behavioral – What are they interested in?
Demographic – What is their age, gender, job title?
Contextual – What kind of content do they read/look at? C
Geographic – Where are they located? Local or National!
Facebook & Instagram – Do they follow you? Are they regular users?
Re-marketing – Have they visited your website or searched for you before?
& More!
The Value of Digital Marketing
Am I helping answer some of your questions on why you are receiving the ads that you see? Because they are the perfect ad for you! Engaging with your local audience is so important right now. The online space may seem flooded, but sometimes people just need a friendly reminder why to shop or use your services.
In short, display marketing serves several purposes. It makes customers aware of their needs. It offers opportunities to re-invigorate potential or returning customers. It provides more reach and increases brand awareness to those who are near & dear to your business. And the best part is it is not as expensive as you would think! The average monthly campaign can reach up to 1,000 customers for only $10. What would you do with hundreds of eyeballs on your brand daily? I’ll tell ya what.. MAKE $$$!

This should be an easy YES or NO answer.. but it can be so much more complicated than that! The main way to make actual money on your website is to process online orders – or sell from your ecommerce platform. Another way to make $$$ from your website, is to have a functional, and responsive place online that tells your story. The easier your site is to navigate, the more users can learn about your products and more about YOU!
So, which site is right for you? The best place to start is with a functional, and simple WordPress website. This is the platform I use for every single one of my clients! Here are a few reasons why:
Customizable Designs – This makes it easy for me to create a custom built site that looks as unique as your brand! This also makes it easy for me to train clients on how to get in and update their site with ease. If that scares the crap out of you, don’t worry! I can do it for you with no problem.
Responsive – Your site should be built with mobile devices in mind. Most of online traffic these days comes from users on their cell phones. You probably already knew that 😉 In order to create the best experience with potential customers on the go, having a site that is easily functional makes a huge difference!
SEO Friendly! – There are a lot of different functions that go into building SEO. One of the biggest is how your website talks to the Search Engines out there. Having a WordPress site is a great start to developing kick-ass SEO. Now you just need me to help get you to the top of those listings and above your competition. Want to learn more about my SEO services? Click here
Once you have created your custom-built website, another great features is to add an ecommerce ability. This can be done with a few platforms like Shopify, Woocommerce, or Square. If you sell retail or anything in-stores, your should absolutely have a place online where your customers can shop from the comfort of their own homes, or at work.. we all know you are browsing on the job!
Seller or a Teller
Once you have created your custom-built website, one thing to think about is your content. Does the website tell (aka have too much text) or sell your audience your products and/or services? These are people who have come to your site based on word of mouth, advertising, or they are searching for you directly. Why not give them the best possible place to hang out and complete a purchase or come and visit you in-store!
Speaking of content… your site should have plenty of calls to action (CTA). We want people who visit your site to learn more about your story and feel connected to your brand. We also would like them to feel inclined to purchase a little something here and there based on the flow of your site. Content can also help boost engagement by using keywords and back-linking to show up on search engines. The more you add and update content, the better. This could be anything from updating information that is already on your site, creating a blog or vlog.
The best type of content to have on your site, you ask? How about your inventory!! Adding an ecommerce feature to your website can create an addition source of income for your business. Things can work behind the scenes and all you have to do is get that “cha-ching” notification! This can be done with a few platforms like Shopify, Woocommerce, or Square. If you sell retail or anything in-stores, you should absolutely have a place online where your customers can shop on the go, from the comfort of their homes, or even at work.. we all know you are browsing on the job! And that’s OK. I support you.
A Million Reasons Why
You may need a new website. Outdated, not functional, not professional enough, you cannot access it, the list goes on. Whatever the reason may be, Digital Savvy is here to help! Even if you just want to find someone to help edit your existing site. I’m your girl. Feel free to call/text me or click here to send me an email!
Today, we are living in a world where we spend up to 4 hours a day (maybe even more!) scrolling through social media. We are constantly surfing through photo content on Instagram, catching up with friends on Facebook, scrolling through inspo pics on Pinterest or laughing at memes on Twitter.
Especially since we are in the times of quarantine, I have noticed my screen time has gone up. Why is this happening? What can you do to grow you followers/brand online? Here are a few helpful tips I have picked up over the years.
Number 1: Organize exciting content
First of all, what you post obviously has a lot to say about you and your business. Whether you are uber-professional in what you post on Facebook or LinkedIn, you may post something a little more laid-back on Instagram for example. This is important in knowing your target audience and who your followers are. Finding content can be tricky and may take some time. But it is worth it! I have a few FREE resources available I can share with you – feel free to email me or comment on this post!
Number 2: Schedule your posts!
You have found a few pictures and captions that you are ready to post. You cannot post these all at once or this will overload your page and followers with notifications.. So what can you do? I have a solution! There are a ton of apps out there to schedule out your content in advance. You can schedule out a day, time and even include tags in your post using apps like Planoly, Hootsuite and or Sked. Now you can plan out certain days to post, but what time of day is the best to post? Moving on to #3!
Number 3: The BEST time to post content
Sprout Social and Wordprss.com say mid-week is the best time to post for most social channels:
Facebook: Wednesday at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m., with the most consistent engagement happening on weekdays 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Instagram: Wednesday at 11 a.m., though Friday between 10 a.m. and 11 a.m. is also good; the most consistent engagement is Tuesday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Twitter: Wednesday and Friday at 9 a.m., with the most consistent engagement found on weekdays between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m.
LinkedIn: Wednesday at 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. and at noon, with most consistent engagement happening Tuesday through Friday between 8 a.m. and 2 p.m.
Through personal research on Instagram and Facebook, it says my followers (and clients pages) get the most traction mid-day, during the week. Usually, the weekends are not as great for posting – many people are not on their phones because they are out and about. Try posting a recap of your weekend on Sunday evening. I bet you will get more likes than usual!
Number 4: How often should I post?
I recently met with my business adviser and social media expert, Kinga Mnich and I asked this very question. To keep your audience engaged, you should be posting at least 3 posts to your feed per week, and a minimum of 2-4 story posts per day! I know this may seem like a lot, but with the ability to re-post other followers and those with influence in your community, you are connecting more and more with your audience and will gain more followers and exposure for your page.
Number 5: Engage with your followers
You have done everything right so far. You have found great content, you are asking good questions to your audience and keeping things interesting! One of the great things about social media is our ability to connect. Once you put out a great post, keep up with the comments and responses. This will help you build a relationship with followers so they will want to keep engaging. Commenting on other posts gives you visibility to like-minded followers. Lastly, direct messaging has had a big impact in 2020 so far. This is a personal communication between you and a follower or potential customer. Have you ever visited a website to look at a pair of shoes? Say you put the shoes in your online cart, and decide not to buy at that exact moment for whatever reason. Then, moments later you are being followed by an online ad for that pair of shoes.
Coincidence? Stalking? Nope.. Just remarketing!
The idea behind remarketing is to get a higher percentage of visitors to convert to a sale, because they are reminded of your business even after they leave. This has become one of the most common practices used by business owners these days. Why wouldn’t you want to get in front of your customer once they have left your website?
How does it work?
Retargeting focuses on the percentage of people who did not make it to that final step of buying your product online, visiting your gallery page, or seeing your location. We can also add a remarketing tool on the search engine. So, if someone searches for your company but does not make it to your site (or even visited the competitions site!) we can serve them an ad and bring them back to your website.
Here’s what Google has to say about it: “Remarketing data is used to match your users to Google accounts, add users to remarketing lists, generate similar audiences, show dynamic ads, and to ensure your Google Ads remarketing campaigns comply with Google’s policies.” (2020). So it’s not that creepy, right?Google uses your online data you have provided to show you ads that mean the most to you. This is a good thing if you are a business. You will be reaching your target audience and those who are similar in the location provided.
Without getting to technical, Google uses a pixel to track and essentially “ping” the right users at the right time. This is to increase engagement and awareness. And, ultimately bring users to a site or page that is ideal for customer experience. That is why you have received ads for things you may have only thought or dreamed about! Google is smart, and always evolving. Which is good for you as a business owner and as a user.
Is remarketing right for me or my business?
Digital Savvy has number of clients who are currently using this strong marketing tool, and we have seen the highest CTR (click-thru rate) on this tactic alone. You work so hard to reach that target customer, why not say “Hey come back!”
