Does your website make you money?

This should be an easy YES or NO answer.. but it can be so much more complicated than that! The main way to make actual money on your website is to process online orders – or sell from your ecommerce platform. Another way to make $$$ from your website, is to have a functional, and responsive place online that tells your story. The easier your site is to navigate, the more users can learn about your products and more about YOU!

So, which site is right for you? The best place to start is with a functional, and simple WordPress website. This is the platform I use for every single one of my clients! Here are a few reasons why:

  1. Customizable Designs – This makes it easy for me to create a custom built site that looks as unique as your brand! This also makes it easy for me to train clients on how to get in and update their site with ease. If that scares the crap out of you, don’t worry! I can do it for you with no problem.
  2. Responsive – Your site should be built with mobile devices in mind. Most of online traffic these days comes from users on their cell phones. You probably already knew that 😉 In order to create the best experience with potential customers on the go, having a site that is easily functional makes a huge difference!
  3. SEO Friendly! – There are a lot of different functions that go into building SEO. One of the biggest is how your website talks to the Search Engines out there. Having a WordPress site is a great start to developing kick-ass SEO. Now you just need me to help get you to the top of those listings and above your competition. Once you have created your custom-built website, another great features is to add an ecommerce ability. This can be done with a few platforms like Shopify, Woocommerce, or Square. If you sell retail or anything in-stores, your should absolutely have a place online where your customers can shop from the comfort of their own homes, or at work.. we all know you are browsing on the job!

Seller or a Teller

Once you have created your custom-built website, one thing to think about is your content. Does the website tell (aka have too much text) or sell your audience your products and/or services? These are people who have come to your site based on word of mouth, advertising, or they are searching for you directly. Why not give them the best possible place to hang out and complete a purchase or come and visit you in-store!

Speaking of content… your site should have plenty of calls to action (CTA). We want people who visit your site to learn more about your story and feel connected to your brand. We also would like them to feel inclined to purchase a little something here and there based on the flow of your site. Content can also help boost engagement by using keywords and back-linking to show up on search engines. The more you add and update content, the better. This could be anything from updating information that is already on your site, creating a blog or vlog.

The best type of content to have on your site, you ask? How about your inventory!! Adding an ecommerce feature to your website can create an addition source of income for your business. Things can work behind the scenes and all you have to do is get that “cha-ching” notification! This can be done with a few platforms like Shopify, Woocommerce, or Square. If you sell retail or anything in-stores, you should absolutely have a place online where your customers can shop on the go, from the comfort of their homes, or even at work.. we all know you are browsing on the job! And that’s OK. I support you.
